The Actor's Shop
I need to work on my pacing for scene work and monologues because I always take forever to get through something. I never really notice as I am acting, but have been told this and can see it in my work. Do you have any advice or activities for tackling this issue?
Create a monologue out of the scene. So, remove the other persons lines and rehearse as if you cannot wait to get what you want and have to activate towards your objective. A lot of it has to do with not needing your objective enough. The more you go after what you want the more the pace picks up to get it.
That makes a lot of sense! I'll add this to my rehearsal. Thank you!
And find levels by improvising and adding subtext to the dialogue when you do it.
