Should we list workshops on our resumes? If so, how? I‘m asking because, I‘ve taken Tasha Smith‘s (a recognizable actor and director) weekend workshop twice in the past, but she an actual studio of classes in LA and I don’t want to make it seem as if I study under her consistently.
It was always a little confusing because her workshop and studio are both called Tasha Smith Actors Workshop lol but adding dates is the clarity I needed. Thanks!
@Lisina on the website it mentioned you are the co-founder of ActorsExpo. Ever think of bringing that back or does it still run?
I think it would be cool to do showcase scenes through that avenue of ActorsExpo, like for an outdoor type of scenario, especially with covid come spring-thoughts on that actually happening?
In the last few years of the event Backstage magazine came on as a sponsor in the hopes of taking over the event and adding it to their ActorFest roster they do in LA and NY every year. ActorsExpo was originally called ActorFest and then we realized there already was one. We eventually sold them that domain name and changed our name to ActorsExpo. The Expo blew up. It got huge. Fast. We never did it to pull a profit, and we always gave the proceeds away. It was amazing. However, we are not event planners. We don't do this type of thing for a living and it was an ENORMOUS undertaking. That basically we did all by our little 'ole selves. LOL! So, we eventually had to stop. It was too much and we were out of our league. It's a good thing to have for sure, but it should be done by people who are truly skilled in the business of trade shows. We were a school with a great idea that became an amazing event. But we should leave the next one to the pros. LOL
One last question before the 1pm quittin' time: I know on the website it mentions to fill out a code to get $5 of classes. It that directly in PayPal where we enter the code? I've never done it and just thought to ask-sorry if this is old news.
When you buy a class from the online page and you put it in your cart when you go to check out there is a place to add a discount code and you put it there.

Be clear that it was a workshop. Give dates and be specific on there and they will know it was just a workshop.

@Jessica Kelly Yeah, just clarify that it's a weekend or two-day or something.
